Galleria Shopping Centre Redevelopment
CLIENT - VICINITY CENTRES
DESIGNER - THE BUCHAN GROUP
MAIN CONTRACTOR - DORIC
The Myer Stabilisation project rationale is to re-secure Myer on a long term lease and stabilise the performance of the Centre by rebuilding the Centre’s MAT(Moving Annual Turnover) largely within the context of the existing Centre built-form, by way of an extensive re-leasing and tenancy remixing strategy and ambience upgrade works to the main ‘spine’ of the Centre. In summary, the existing configuration and format of the Centre is largely retained but refreshed to enable the introduction of new retailers that better resonate with the trade area consumer and thus reclaim centre turnover particularly where increased spend is being seen out of Centre within the MTA. More generally, the Stabilisation Strategy seeks to reposition the asset from one which its customers view as ‘tired’ and ‘yesterday’ to one which is undergoing renewal and ‘on trend’.
